Young Dumbledore, if the Fantastic Beasts rickshaws are anything to go by, see Gellert Grindelwald - his old friend many who turned into an evil superpower mage. That complicated relationship seems to be a major reason why Dumbledore sent Newt Scamander to follow Grindelwald, instead of following himself.
